Hinterlands Gold for Horde
NERFED:
Jinar’Zillen no longer gives you 55 silver for each five shellfish you bring him; now he gives you a single Bloodbelly Fish. These are practically worthless.
So you’re a Horde player who’s only level 34 and wondering how you’ll have time to save gold for your mount when training costs are so high? By spending a few hours following this advice you can make some serious advances in your mount savings.
This strategy revolves around the repeatable quest Fish in a Bucket given by Jinar’Zillen (22,73) located walking along the docks. in Shadowprey Village (Desolace). He asks that you collect Shellfish from the bottom of the sea just under and around the docks. And here’s how you can make a ton of gold from this guy - he gives you 55 silver for every 5 Shellfish you collect. That means every 10 Shellfish are worth 1.10 gold, and collecting them as low as level 34 can be done in roughly 30 minutes. Plus you’re making extra gold and experience by grinding the Drysnap Crawlers and Pincers that surround the traps.
As pointed out by Best WoW Gold Guide reader Copra, another major bonus to farming the shellfish trips is that they randomly drop perhaps the best pre-60 fishing pole in the game: the Big Iron Fishing Pole (WowEcon | Wowhead). Aside from having a nice +20 bonus to your fishing skill attached to it, you see from WowEcon that this pole never sells for less than 10 gold and occasionally even as high as 28 gold! Of course, with a 1.5% drop rate from the traps the high price can be expected.
Because this quest takes place entirely underwater you can see that Warlocks, Shaman and Druids will have the easiest time, however there are numerous underwater air bubbles that non-water-breathing characters can use to never have to come up for air. So don’t spend any money on water-breathing potions for this!
When you follow Derek’s path to Warcraft Riches you will find out all the tricks to make up to 200 gold per hour. This suite of guides will help you maximize your ability to generate maximum gold through the auction house and and your professions.

thort of this, and too time consuming, if u manage to actually get 1 u make urself 11s….. yes they can come in 2’s but rare… dont bother if your not doing quest.
I just tried this and got about 10 gold in one hour with a 39 level druid… so its quite ok for me for making the missing money for the mount
What is forgotten is the pretty neat strong iron fishing rod, which can be found from the same traps that sells for something like 15g a piece easily on any server. Of course, in addition to this, when your AH sales generate steady 30-60g a day from lv10 on, you are well on your way to the twink of your dreams… or epic flying mount later on!
I totally forgot that, lol. Thanks for pointing out the Big Iron Fishing Pole, I’m going to add its info into the post right now.
